Product Description

Product Introduction: JDZ9-10 Single Phase Castable Insulation High Sensitive Voltage Transformer

The JDZ9-10 single phase castable insulation high sensitive voltage transformer operates on the same principle as a traditional transformer, consisting of a core and primary and secondary windings. Its main feature is its small and relatively constant capacity, operating normally in an unloaded state.

The impedance of the voltage transformer itself is very low. Once a short circuit occurs on the secondary side, the current will rapidly increase and potentially burn out the coil. To prevent this, the primary side of the voltage transformer is equipped with a fuse, and the secondary side is reliably grounded. This ensures that in the event of insulation failure on either the primary or secondary side, no high voltage potential will occur against the ground, preventing accidents to personnel and equipment.

Voltage transformers used for measurement purposes are generally designed as single-phase dual-coil structures, with the primary side voltage representing the measured voltage (e.g., line voltage in a power system). They can be used in a single phase configuration or two units can be connected in a V-V configuration to form a three-phase system. Voltage transformers used in laboratories often have multiple tapping points on the primary side to adapt to different voltage measurement requirements. For voltage transformers used in protection and grounding, there is an additional third coil, known as a three-coil voltage transformer. The third coils of the three-phase system are connected in an open delta configuration, with the two terminals of the open delta connected to the voltage coils of the grounding protection relay.

In normal operation, the three-phase voltages in a power system are balanced, resulting in a sum of zero for the induced electromotive forces in the third coil. However, in the event of a single phase-to-ground fault, a displacement will occur in the neutral point, causing zero-sequence voltage to appear between the terminals of the open delta and actuate the relay, providing protection to the power system.

When zero-sequence voltage appears in the coil, there will be a corresponding zero-sequence magnetic flux in the core. Therefore, this type of three-phase voltage transformer adopts a side-closed core (for voltages up to 10KV) or three single-phase voltage transformers. The accuracy requirements for the third coil of this type of transformer are not high, but it requires a certain level of over-excitation characteristic, i.e., the magnetic flux density in the core increases proportionally to the increase in primary side voltage without causing damage.
